Northstar has a unique mix of talent and knowledge that sets us apart from other firms in the gas industry. We are more than just an engineering firm or a fabrication shop. At Northstar, many of us have years of gas and utility backgrounds. We design, engineer, fabricate, and install customized, purpose built gate stations, pipeline topside facilities, compressed natural gas facilities and liquefied natural gas facilities; and also provide commissioning and start-up services for every project completed.

Complete LNG Facilities
Northstar is one of a handful of U.S. companies that have designed and built complete LNG facilities. Key among Northstar’s accomplishments is the first LNG facility sited, designed, permitted and built in Massachusetts since the 1970’s: Berkshire Gas’ LNG Facility in Whately, MA. We design and build LNG facilities as a general contractor for client ownership, or design, build, own and operate facilities for the industry.
The use of compressed natural gas (CNG) is expanding. Shale gas has created an enormous financial spread between the cost of natural gas and hydrocarbon based fuels. It is now economically viable to utilize high capacity CNG trailers to transport natural gas to areas unreached by pipeline supply. Areas unreached by pipeline are often eager for the economic and environmental benefits of natural gas.
Northstar is pleased to offer the growing CNG sector with siting, permitting, design and build services for CNG Source Sites (Compression & Truck Loading) and CNG Customer Sites (Truck Offloading, Preheating, Metering and Decompression)
